Merseyside is a county not short of great places to visit and sights to see.
Many opt to travel to Liverpool to make the most of their day out, but St Helens has some unique offerings if you're wanting to stay local or visit the area from elsewhere.
The ECHO took a look at five spots in St Helens ideal for a day out.

5) Sherdley Park
If you are looking for lovely walks or a place to take the kids, Sherdley Park may be right up your street.
This 336 acre park is the largest in the town and offers an 18-hole golf course, a lake and open woodland, as well as play areas for little ones.

4) Taylor Park
Taylor Park is ideal for scenic walks or for when you want some 'me' time to reflect.
It's also a great place to take the kids thanks to its two playgrounds, cafe and picnic tables.
With a lakefront trail and athletic field, Taylor Park offers a chance to appreciate Mother Nature at her best.
Sitting just off Prescot Road, the park is easy to access whether you're coming from St Helens or Liverpool
3) World of Glass
No other industry is more closely tied to St Helens than glass making.
The World of Glass provides a fun, yet insightful, experience as you wander through the exhibitions, learning about glass, which has defined St Helens.
The museum also offers plenty of glassblowing demos, a film show with amazing special effects and a gift shop, allowing you to take a little piece of the museum home with you.
The World of Glass is the ideal place for a family outing, especially if you're after something different to the traditional museum.
2) Theatre Royal
With live shows throughout the year, you'll always find something to entertain you at the Theatre Royal.
The venue offers seating for up to 700 so is sure to provide a fun-packed, immersive experience at any time of year.
Situated right in the town centre, close to the bus and train stations, it is easy to get to.
1) Carr Mill Dam
Taking the top spot is Carr Mill Dam, the county's largest body of inland water.
With picturesque lakeside trails and walks, it's the perfect place for anyone whose a fan of the great outdoors and is especially great for dog owners.
There's an opportunity for fishing as well as competitive power boating and angling events.
