Homeland Security's top lawyer is now facing formal discipline proceedings over a summer spent publicly ranking federal judges by name. On Wednesday, August 19, 128 retired state and federal judges — joined by the advocacy groups Democracy Defenders Fund and Lawyers Defending American Democracy — asked The Florida Bar to investigate DHS General Counsel James Percival for a social media campaign he calls "Worst of the Worst, District Judge Edition." Former Florida Chief Justice Peggy Quince leads the list of signatories.
