Top comedian Tom Allen performed at valleys theatre and absolutely loved it

He's best known for his catty remarks and bitchy onstage persona. But all that totally melted away when comedian Tom Allen played the Park and Dare Theatre in Treorchy last night.

The 39-year-old, best known for his regular quick-witted appearances on TV favourites like Eight out of 10 Cats and Mock The Week, received rapturous applause after finishing his set in front of a packed house at the Rhondda venue. And he was quick to give that a love straight back to his Valleys following.

The funnyman took to social media to praise everyone involved in ensuring the sold-out gig was a success. "Treorchy, what a beautiful place," he posted on his Facebook page afterwards.

"Also the Park and Dare is a brilliant arts centre in a great town run by such an excellent team. Support their events if you can."

Posting on his Instagram stories too, Tom - who has almost a million followers on his social media platforms, shouted out to the Park & Dare and his audience, with whom he had some brilliant interaction. In Treorchy this saw council workers (jokingly) booed and a mishearing of Cynon Valley village, Penrhiwceiber as 'Pennypounder' . We guess you had to be there, but it goes some way to explaining Tom's connection with his audience and subsequent post!

And the audience were just as appreciative. "Tom you are a star - a breath of fresh air at a time where we need some laughs," replied one punter.

"Your show tonight did not disappoint you are as funny live as we see you on the TV. Thank you for a fab night."

Another added, "Best live comedian, we've ever seen. Fantastic night, can't wait to see you again."

Meanwhile, a third said, "Absolutely loved the show tonight, cried laughing. Best night out - glad you liked Treorchy."
