Top 5 most run getters and wicket takers in ICC World Cup 2023

NEW DELHI: New Zealand opener Devon Conway scored a handy 20 against Afghanistan on Wednesday to reclaim top spot in the leading run-getters list of the 2023 ICC World Cup.

Conway has so far scored 249 runs at an impressive average of 83.00 in four matches.

Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan, who played a fine knock against India on Saturday, has accumulated 248 runs in three games at an average of 124.00 to be at second position.

South Africa's Quinton de Kock is third in the list with 229 runs in three games followed by Indian skipper Rohit Sharma with 217 runs from three matches and Kusal Mendis of Sri Lanka (207).

Among the bowlers, New Zealand spinner Mitchell Santner returned figures of 3 for 39 against Afghanistan to go top of the highest wicket-takers list. Santner has 11 wickets from four games, two more than teammate Matt Henry, who has taken 9 wickets in as many matches.

India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is at third position with 8 wickets in three games followed by Pakistan's Hasan Ali and Kagiso Rabada of South Africa, both of whom have 7 wickets each from three games.
