As we power through January and look forward to increasingly lighter nights, more of us will be keen to shake off the lethargies of winter and get out and about again.
There is, as always, plenty to enjoy around the region with visitor attractions, theatres, galleries and museums all eager to welcome people through their doors. Besides regular events there are one-off, even quirky, ones all vying for our attention.
