Top 10 most valuable goalkeepers in the world with Arsenal's Aaron Ramsdale number one

Arsenal's Aaron Ramsdale has been named the most valuable goalkeeper in the world by the CIES Football Observatory.

The CIES Football Observatory is a research group that was established in 2005 and focuses on statistical analysis in football. They have worked with the likes of FIFA, UEFA, Manchester City and Chelsea and, according to their statistical model, Ramsdale is valued at €79m (£67.5m).

The 25-year-old joined Arsenal back in 2021 for a fee of around £30m, having suffered back-to-back relegations with Sheffield United and Bournemouth. Eyebrows were initially raised over the signing, but Ramsdale quickly established himself as Arsenal's first-choice goalkeeper and played a key role in their Premier League title push last season.

He also signed a lucrative new four-year deal with Arsenal in May, vowing to make "more special memories". Ramsdale said: "It's crazy to think it's coming up to two years since we did this. I know that you guys weren't totally overexcited about the signing of myself and I totally get it.

"I didn't have any right to come here and expect you to rate me from the get-go. This is a huge club with some great keepers along the way. But, fair play, once I got into the team, I got my chance, I feel like you understood me a lot more. I feel your love and I feel like you feel mine as well.

"I can't imagine my home being anywhere else. I feel honoured that you guys have welcomed me in and I feel honoured that the staff want me to stay. So it was the easiest decision in the world to commit my future to The Arsenal. So let's keep moving forward as a club and make some more special memories."

Second on the list behind Ramsdale is Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is valued at €75m (£64m). Liverpool star Alisson sits in third, with his value an estimated €67m (£57m).

Porto's Diogo Costa, who has been linked with moves to the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea this summer, is the world's fourth most valuable goalkeeper at €65m (£55.5m). Manchester City star Ederson rounds out the top five with a value of €57m (£48.7m).

Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois sits at number six on the list with a value of €52m (£44.4m), while Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel is valued at just €4m less with the Swiss stopper rated at €48m (£41m).

Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak is valued at €40m (£34m) while Inter Milan star Andre Onana, who may soon be plying his trade at Old Trafford, is rated at €37m (£31.6m). Alex Meret, who helped Napoli win the Serie A title last season, rounds out the top ten with a value of €36m (£30.7m).
