Tony Mowbray says he is in the dark as to why Birmingham City midfielder Jobe Bellingham was on Wearsideto watch Sunderland's play-off semi-final against Luton Town. The 17-year-old - younger brother of Dortmund and England midfielder Jude - was pictured arriving at the Stadium of Light ahead of the Black Cats' 2-1 win against the Hatters in the first leg of their tie.
Bellingham has been linked with a move to Sunderland, and the Black Cats have a strong Birmingham connection with sporting director Kristjaan Speakman, coach Mike Dodds, and head of coaching Stuart English having all previously worked at St Andrew's with both Jude and Jobe. Asked about Bellingham's presence and the transfer speculation, Mowbray said: "It's not part of my remit.
"I'm the head coach, so I don't get involved too much in who we might sign."

And he went on to point out the link between Dodds and the Bellinghams, adding: "One of my coaches is very close to the Bellingham family, he talks on national telly about his big brother at Dortmund, so maybe he's come to watch a big game because his season has finished. I don't know the answer [why Bellingham was at the game].
"It's not something I am really privy to, to be honest."
