Tony McGregor in explicit rant aimed at President Zelensky after criticism of Conor McGregor over Vladimir Putin photo

Tony McGregor has launched an explicit rant aimed at Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky after the leader reportedly criticised UFC star Conor McGregor after a meeting with senior Irish politicians.

The Ukrainian leader met with senior Irish politicians and criticised the UFC star over a photo of McGregor and Russian leader Vladimir Putin in which the Crumlin man dubbed Putin a 'one of the greatest leaders of our time'.

The Irish delegation was headed by Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghaíl and Seanad Cathaoirleach Mark Daly and were apparently told by Zelensky that he had once been a fan of the MMA icon up until he happily smiled alongside Putin at the 2018 World Cup final which was held in Moscow.

Daly is quoted as saying: “He (Zelensky) felt he (McGregor) wasn’t being supportive of Ukraine. This man is fighting a war but he knows what’s going on all around the world including in Ireland."

Back in 2018, McGregor had shared the photo of himself and Putin on Instagram with a glowing caption hailing the Russian leader, saying: "Today I was invited to the World Cup final as a guest of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"This man is one of the greatest leaders of our time and I was honored to attend such a landmark event alongside him.

"Today was an honor for me Mr. Putin. Thank you and congratulations on an amazing World Cup."

And Tony McGregor launched an explicit rant in defence of his son.

Tony mimicked the words from the infamous Academy Awards encounter between Will Smith and Chris Rock earlier in the year and said: "Keep my son's name out yo f***ing mouth."

Tony also shared a number of photos of Putin with famous figures such as US President Joe Biden and U2 frontman Bono without caption.
