Real Madrid have confirmed the late addition of Toni Kroos to their squad to face Liverpool tonight in the Champions League.
The Reds take on the La Liga giants in the first leg of their last-16 tie from Anfield this season. Liverpool will be looking to beat Madrid for the first time since 2009, having failed to claim victory in their previous six meetings.
On Monday, Madrid announced a 23-man squad that had travelled to Merseyside to take on Liverpool. Kroos was not included as part of the squad, and was one of a number of notable absentees.

Kroos was joined by Aurelien Tchouameni and Ferland Mendy in being absent from the initial squad announced on Monday. However, that situation appears to have changed.
Madrid have released a statement mere hours before kick-off at Anfield confirming that Kroos has not only travelled to Liverpool, but will be in the squad to face the Reds tonight. Tchouameni and Mendy remain sidelined and have still not been included.
“Toni Kroos has joined Real Madrid’s squad for tonight's match against Liverpool, corresponding to the first leg of the Champions League round of 16,” their statement read.
“The German joins the list of players available by Carlo Ancelotti for the match at Anfield.”
