Tommy Robinson charged under Terrorism Act over mobile phone pin

Tommy Robinson has been charged under the Terrorism Act after turning himself in at Folkestone police station on Friday afternoon.

Robinson, real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, is alleged to have failed to provide the Pin to his mobile phone and has now been charged under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act, Kent Police said.

The charge is in relation to an incident in Folkestone on Sunday July 28 after officers stopped him under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Although Kent Police said Yaxley-Lennon has been bailed in relation to the terror offence, the force later confirmed the 41-year-old has been remanded in relation to his ongoing High Court contempt case which is due to be heard on Monday.

His X account posted: “We can confirm that Tommy is now being held on remand until Monday where he will appear at Woolwich Crown Court at 10am.”

Robinson is due to appear at Woolwich for a two-day hearing concerning allegations he breached a 2021 High Court order barring him from repeating libellous allegations against a Syrian refugee who successfully sued him.

Supporters of Robinson are due to hold a demonstration on Saturday, which is expected to be met with a counter-protest organised by Stand Up to Racism.

The Metropolitan Police and British Transport Police are due to be supported by officers from other forces across the country as the Met said there will be a “significant police presence” to ensure the two groups are kept apart.
