Tommy Lee Jones’ family breaks silence on daughter's death

Tommy Lee Jones’ family breaks silence on daughter's death

Tommy Lee Jones’ family has released a statement following his daughter’s death.

Victoria Jones, 34, was found dead in a San Francisco hotel room, on New Year’s Day (01.01.26) and her family have thanked people for their “kind words, thoughts, and prayers”.

They told Us Weekly in a statement: “We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

Tommy, 79, had Victoria and her brother Austin Jones, 43, with his ex-wife, Kimberlea Cloughley.

Victoria was found dead at the Fairmont San Francisco hotel in the early hours of Thursday morning after the San Francisco Fire Department responded to “a report of a medical emergency”.

The San Francisco Fire Department told Us Weekly: “Upon arrival, paramedics from the fire department performed an assessment. The person was declared deceased. SFPD and the medical examiner’s office were called to the scene. Scene turned over to SFPD and SF Medical Examiners.”

A 911 call revealed that San Francisco police officers received a call for “code 3 for the overdose.”

NBC Bay Area reported on Victoria’s death, citing police sources with “direct knowledge of the investigation” and added that she was “found in a hallway of the hotel early Thursday morning”.

Victoria appeared in some of her father’s movies at a young age, including Men in Black II, back in 2002 and 2005's The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, which Tommy directed.

He revealed in 2006 that he actually fired her from Melquiades Estrada but later rehired her.

He told The New Yorker: “She’s a good actress, has her SAG card, speaks impeccable Spanish. When she was a baby, I told her nurse to speak to her in Spanish, but I fired my daughter [from the movie].

“She had to get up at 5 a.m. for her part. One morning, she wouldn’t get out of bed. I said, ‘Honey, this is work.’ But she wouldn’t budge, so I fired her. Then, without telling me, the production staff went over and woke her and rushed her out to the set just in time.”
