Tommy Fury has promised to give hardcore boxing fans their wish and put an end to YouTube star Jake Paul's boxing career when the pair finally meet next month.
The unbeaten Brit has twice agreed to fight Paul amid their two-year rivalry, but the bout has never materialised due to injuries and visa issues on Fury's end. Now, the pair will settle their differences in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as part of a mega-money pay-per-view event.
And Fury, who rose to national fame when he appeared on the 2019 season of Love Island, has vowed to stop Paul and send him packing from boxing after his three years in the sport. Paul is 6-0 in the paid ranks, but has yet to fight a legitimate professional boxer like Fury, who is 8-0 since making his debut in 2018 after training from the age of 12 with his famous family.
" Jake Paul ’s boxing career ends on February 26 and I can finally move on with mine,” Fury said in a statement to announce the event. “Every time I go out right now, everybody asks me about the Jake Paul fight. After this fight is done, everybody will be asking me how it felt to knock Jake Paul out. The world is about to see what happens when a proper boxer faces a YouTuber."
For Paul's part, he appears to welcome the prospect of fighting a younger, bigger professional boxer who has considerably more experience in the ring. He has pushed through a bout with Fury despite multiple recommendations against such a deal following the Brit's two pull-outs.
And he wants his rival to take the advice of his brother; world heavyweight champion Tyson, and change his name following their bout assuming he gets the win. Paul also wants Fury to hang up his gloves should he taste his first defeat, meaning that both men are facing the end of their boxing careers with a loss.
"After multiple failed attempts to get Tommy Fury in the ring, the moment of truth has finally arrived," Paul wrote in a social media post today. "Fumbles has no excuses now. Baby is born. Money is massive. Immigration is not an issue. Sunday February 26, Paul vs Fury is live on ESPN+ PPV in the US and BT Sport Box Office in the UK.

" Tyson Fury has promised he and Papa John will make Tommy retire from boxing and change his last name forever if he can’t beat the YouTuber. Saturday (tomorrow) I’m coming to London to look at all three Fury’s in the eye and shake on that promise. Alhamdulillah!"
In a further statement as part of a press release, Paul added: "I will get in the ring with a ‘real boxer,’ an 8-0 fighter from a storied fighting family and show the world the truth about who Jake Paul, the boxer really is.”
Queensberry promoter Frank Warren added: "This is the fight Tommy has wanted for a long time, so I am thrilled it has all been finalised. I know how disappointed he was after twice being unable to make it into the ring with Jake, so I anticipate this will be a memorable occasion not short on spice.
"It is a fantastic opportunity for Tommy to extend his profile even further into the Middle East and American markets and the chance to bring Jake Paul's boxing career to an abrupt halt. Credit to Jake, who I admire greatly, for jumping in with a boxer this time. But Tommy has the background and pedigree as a fighter that makes him the favourite in my book."
