Tommy Fury threatens to slap Jake Paul in the face ahead of potential showdown

Tommy Fury wants to slap Jake Paul in the face with his rival set to be ringside at his upcoming fight this weekend.

Fury will take to the ring in his latest professional outing this weekend when he takes on ex-Marine Corps Paul Bamba at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. A win for Fury could see him set up a clash with YouTube star Paul who has stated that an agreement is in place for the pair to settle their rivalry next year.

It was announced this week that his long-term rival would be ringside in the Middle East to watch the fight, with potential future opponent KSI also in attendance. However Fury has claimed he will remain focused on his upcoming clash with Bamba before considering any confrontation with Paul.

"I'm not interested who is there to be honest," Fury said ahead of his upcoming contest this week. "There could be a million Jake Pauls sat there ringside, my mindset is laser-focused on Paul Bamba and getting him out the way. But maybe then I will jump out to ringside and slap him in the face. I'm not really bothered about Jake Paul or KSI being there.

"I'm not bothered by whoever they with either because they are a load of boys really compared to a load of men, that is what it is." Fury and Paul have only come face-to-face in person once when the Briton travelled over to the US and beat the YouTube star's sparring partner Anthony Taylor on the undercard of his rival's win over Tyron Woodley last August.

Fury was prevented from entering the ring but was able to come face-to-face with Paul in the hallway during his rival's walk back to the changing rooms where they were eventually dragged away by security. The pair have since shared video calls including before their previous scheduled fight last December, which was cancelled after Fury withdrew with a broken rib.

The pair looked as if they would finally clash this August having signed on the dotted line for a fresh meeting, but Fury was prevented from entering the US so the fight was shelved. However Paul is willing to explore the opportunity of making a clash for a third time providing the financial risk is in his rival's court.

He said: "Yeah, there's definitely interest, I think if his team is taking the financial risk and putting the event on then I'm cool. I just don't want to take that risk because I think he's going to back out again, most likely."It's an easy fight for me, the kid's a novice, he's never even fought anyone good, he's never even had an eight-round fight. He doesn't have the experience I have which is crazy to say because he's been boxing his whole life."
