Reality TV star Tom Sandoval has responded to a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend Ariana Madix regarding the sale of their shared home. Sandoval, 40, argued in court documents that Madix, 38, did not provide enough evidence to support her claim for partition of the residence. He also claimed that Madix did not act reasonably and in good faith in her lawsuit.
If a partition is granted, Sandoval has requested accounting and compensatory adjustments for any repairs and improvements he made to enhance the property's value. Madix had previously requested the home be sold and the earnings split, citing ongoing discord between them affecting the property's ownership.
The former couple purchased the 4,334-square-foot home in Valley Village, Los Angeles, in 2019 for $2 million. They lived in the house for nearly four years before their breakup, after which they remained roommates while deciding on the property's fate.
Madix, who joined Dancing With the Stars in September 2023, revealed she had been staying in an Airbnb while training for the show. She expressed her desire to resolve the home ownership issue, emphasizing that they both own it equally.
The tension over the shared home was further highlighted in the trailer for season 11 of Vanderpump Rules, where Madix appeared reluctant to let Sandoval buy her out in case he and his rumored girlfriend, Rachel Leviss, wanted to live there together.
In a recent episode of the show, Sandoval's request to throw a birthday party at the house led to a disagreement with Madix, who found the idea disrespectful. Despite Sandoval proceeding with the party, Madix remained unimpressed, feeling that he was disregarding her feelings about the situation.
