Tom Parker vowed to fight cancer for his children in a heartbreaking appearance on Stand Up To Cancer.
The Wanted singer has tragically died today at the age of 33, with his wife Kelsey confirming the devastating news. He was with his family and his bandmates when he passed away.
Throughout his own cancer battle, Tom vowed to raise funds for other cancer sufferers as well as raise awareness of the devastating effects that cancer has on so many people's lives.
He appeared on Channel 4's Stand Up To Cancer last October, where he detailed his own battle and vowed to help and support others who were suffering by raising funds for the charity.
"Cancer can consume you very quickly and very easily," he explained, "There was a time at the start of this journey where I couldn't get out of bed. I was so consumed by cancer. It wasn't the physical side of things, it was the mental side of things.
"I kept thinking 'I'm going to die, so what's the point in getting out of bed?'"
However, Tom was adamant to fight for his children and said the whole battle he was going through put life into perspective.
"I had to [drag myself out of the darkness], for my kids,” he insisted, "I had two under two and a wife. You have to pick yourself up and get on with it. It gives you perspective. It makes things so clear.
"You realise the important things in life. And how the small things are what matter."
Kelsey announced the sad news of Tom's passing today, where she paid tribute to the "centre" of her and her kids' world.
"It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side," she penned in a heartbreaking post shared on her Instagram account.
"Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence. We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children. Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout."
She concluded: "He fought until the very end. I’m forever proud of you."
