Tom Parker’s The Wanted bandmates led the tributes to the late singer in a moving message on Wednesday.
Bandmates Max, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes shared their devastation over the star’s death on Instagram.
Accompanied with a picture of the star, the group paid tribute to the “amazing husband and father” who they described as their “brother”.
A statement on their Instagram said: “Max, Jay, Siva, Nathan and the whole Wanted family are devastated by the tragic and premature loss of our bandmate Tom Parker, who passed away peacefully at lunchtime today surrounded by his family and his band mates.
“Tom was an amazing husband to Kelsey, and father to Aurelia and Bodhi. He was our brother, words can’t express the loss and sadness we feel. Always and forever in our hearts.”
Parker was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour in 2020.
Recently, the singer received private hospital treatment in Spain after six rounds of chemotherapy and 30 radiotherapy sessions.
Social media was awash with an outpouring of love from his celebrity friends.
His bandmate Kaneswaran also shared a personal tribute to the bandmate on his Instagram.
He wrote: “Hey Tom, hope you’re having a blast up there. I am so grateful that I had a chance to witness your true courage. It has been a pleasure of my life Tommy Boy.
“Thank you for letting us see you light up the world. Talk to you soon and see you later. Love you brother x.”
Among those paying tribute, Ed Sheeran sent his condolences to the star’s family.
He wrote on Instagram: “So sad to hear of Tom’s passing. Thoughts and love are with Kelsey, his children and his family. Very sad day, what a lovely guy.”
TV presenter Rylan Clark shared some kind words on social media.
He tweeted: “I’ve just seen the news about Tom and that’s absolutely gutting. He was such a good’un. So sad to hear. Sending my love to Kelsey and the kids. Awful news x #RipTom x”
Joe McElderry, who won The X-Factor in 2009, tweeted: “So very very sad (emoji) life can be cruel! My thoughts to his family and friends.”
Howard Donald from Take That sent his condolences to the family of The Wanted star.
He tweeted: “So young and so sad. RIP @TomParker from @thewanted. Strength and love to his family.”
Union J singer JJ Hamblett hailed the star as “an incredible artist and real family man”.
Hamblett tweeted: “Just seen the news…I am speechless!!! Tom Parker was such a nice guy who was an incredible artist and real family man!
“Such a cruel, cruel world… RIP Tom.. you will be missed but never never forgotten”.
