Tom Parker's widow Kelsey speaks out on the 'toughest' part of grief

Kelsey Parker has opened up about the 'toughest' part of grief since husband Tom Parker died.

The mum-of-two appeared on ITV's Loose Women where she spoke about how she has been coping since Tom passed away six months ago.

Speaking to the panelists and the studio audience, Kelsey talked about what the hardest parts are and how her children have been getting on.

Janet Street Porter asked when the hardest times for Kelsey were.

Kelsey said: "Evenings are so tough. It's because the kids go to bed and it's just me.

"That's the time you speak to your partner, you gossip, you talk. I don't have that any more."

She went on to explain that her eldest child Aurelia understands that her dad has died and will often talk about it.

Kelsey added: "It's very matter of fact that he has died. She [Aurelia] will pick things up and say 'OK that's my dad's' or 'OK that's mummy and daddy when they got married.'

"We really talk about him in the house. It's so important. It just keeps him alive for them."

Tom passed away back in March of this year after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

He shared children, Aurelia and Bodhi with his wife.

Kelsey posted a statement when Tom died which read: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side. Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence.

"We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children.

"Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I’m forever proud of you."

Kelsey will be completing a charity challenge for Coppa Feel in November in memory of Tom, which will see her trek across the Sahara.

Tom was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour in 2020 and was given just 18 months to live.

He went on to beat the odds after undergoing several rounds of chemotherapy and 30 radiotherapy sessions.

Tom was best known for being part of boyband The Wanted.

Kelsey has been open on her social media about how she has been coping following her husband's death.

She recently took to her Instagram story where she said she was feeling 'drained'.

Kelsey said: "So I just went and got my nails done. I was in the shop and the guy was like to me 'are you tired?' and I was like 'you know what I am actually really tired'.

"But it's a weird tired. I just feel like at the moment work is taking me to a place where obviously it's quite emotional and I'm talking about a lot of things that's emotional. So I just think I'm like emotionally drained."
