Tom Parker’s widow Kelsey has revealed the thoughtful way she thanked Ed Sheeran for paying for her late husband’s medical bills.

The Wanted star Parker died aged 33 from brain cancer, leaving behind his wife and two young children in March earlier this year.

Now the actress has publicly thanked Mr Sheeran and she recently gave him crystals as a little thank you for helping pay for her late husband’s private treatment.

“Ed was just amazing, just an unbelievable person,” Kelsey told Lorraine on her ITV show.

“He was at the Summertime Ball at the weekend and I actually got him a gift and I got him some crystals, because I’m like, what do you get someone who’s got everything? What he did for us, for our family, gave me more time with Tom.

“[He’s an] unbelievable person, he didn’t need to do that, and he didn’t even ask for anything from it – it was like, “I’m giving you this, please.””

It was first revealed Mr Sheeran had paid for Mr Parker’s medical bills in The Wanted star’s memoir Hope: My Inspirational Life.

In it, he wrote: “Pretty much from the moment I was diagnosed, Ed Sheeran reached out to me with an offer to do anything he could to help.

“I’ve never publicly said this before (and he’ll probably be mad that I’m doing it now) but Ed is a very special man — he even helped out with my medical bills when I was seeking other treatment options and having private immunotherapy.

”He didn’t need to do any of that, but my wife Kelsey and I are so grateful to him for his support, it meant the world.”

Mr Sheeran hasn’t publicly commented on the donations to this day.

Their friendship goes way back to when Mr Sheeran first joined The Wanted on their tour in the US more than 10 years ago.
