Alan Hutton has told Tom Lawrence has has to hit the rest button at Rangers and get himself 100 per cent to avoid breaking down again.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst landed the midfielder on a free last summer and he was a shining light in the early part of the campaign for the Light Blues. He fired two goals and two assists in five Premiership outings while he also scored a crucial goal in the Champions League qualifying play-off against PSV at Ibrox.
However, he has been ruled out with a knee injury ever since the early part of the campaign and is yet to make his long-awaited return. Michael Beale confirmed last week the 29-year-old had to undergo another operation and won't be back until the business end of pre-season ahead of the new campaign.

Former Rangers star and pundit Hutton reckons it will be 'devastating' for the midfielder to be out for so long and believes getting him fully fit is going to be 'huge' for the Ibrox men going forward.
He told Football Insider: “It will be devastating for him there is no getting away from that.
“I think he showed real promise in his first few months in what he was going to give the team moving forward. I think he is the insight into the future.
“I think him getting fit is going to be huge for Rangers. In spite of having all these setbacks he has to hit the reset button.
“Although it is difficult, he is probably going back to square one, but getting himself right and not trying to rush back too quickly and breaking down again.
“You have got to feel for him but he is a great player, he has shown that in a Rangers jersey already. He just needs to get back fit and playing.“
Talking about Lawrence last week, Beale confirmed:“Tom Lawrence has had another operation and won’t be available until the back end of pre-season."
