Tom Holland's Spider-Man audition footage surfaces to mark 'No Way Home' digital release

Tom Holland's audition footage for the Spider-Man franchise has surfaced in a behind-the-scenes clip to announce the digital home entertainment release of "Spider-Man: No Way Home".

In the clip, Tom - who was only a teenager at the time - can be seen using his signature charm whilst trying out for the role which made him the global superstar he is today.

Tom can be seen extending his fingers in his signature spider manner, whilst someone off-screen throws a large boot at him in an attempt to recreate Spider-Man's famous web-slinging.

The audition tape is filled with featurette footage of Tom candidly describing how nerve-wracking the process of the audition was.

"The audition process - it still blows my mind how crazy that whole thing was," said Tom.

He goes on to admit he was not expecting to be cast in the role and that, unknowingly, his life was about to change forever.

Tom added: "I look back on it and it was definitely the most stressful time of my life.

"I didn't know whether my life was about to change and I wanted to play this character that I'd grown up loving and admiring."

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available worldwide digitally for home viewing.

The home entertainment release follows on from a record-breaking box-office release that saw Spider-Man: No Way Home dominate the global box office, positioning it currently as the sixth highest-grossing film of all time.

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighbourhood hero's identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life, and putting those he cares about most at risk.

When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who have ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe.

Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future, but the future of the Multiverse.
