Disney have released the first photo from the new live-action Pinocchio movie.
And in the capture, Tom Hanks is seen transformed into Italian carpenter Geppetto who creates Pinocchio out of wood and then wishes upon a star for the figurine to become a real boy.
The reimagined story, directed by Robert Zemeckis, will follow the original beloved tale of the wooden puppet embarking on an adventure to become a human by trying to prove he is brave, truthful, and unselfish.
The first image of the highly anticipated film shows Tom sporting a scruffy style dressed in shabby overalls and a shirt.
He is seen with a head of white curly hair and a fluffy moustache as he leans down to admire Pinocchio.
Pinocchio, voiced by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth in the film, looks near identical to the original film’s character design with a yellow hat with a red feather, a mop of black hair and a cute face with a long nose.
Behind the two characters, the workshop where Gepetto works, kitted out with carpentry tools, is seen illuminated by candlelight.
A second snap shows Hanks looking every inch the cheery chap as he flashes a huge grin and squints his eyes, and a third image depicts Geppetto working away on Pinocchio.
Other famous faces taking part in the film - that are yet to be seen in character - include Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jiminy Cricket, Cynthia Erivo is the Blue Fairy; Keegan-Michael Key is ‘Honest’ John and Luke Evans plays The Coachman.
Recent years has seen film giant Disney embrace live-action remakes of many of its flagship titles, including Aladdin, The Lion King, Mulan and Dumbo.
Tom has been a busy man and as a result, his fans are going to be treated to seeing him in another blockbuster before Pinocchio is released.
