Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson’s Los Angeles home was reportedly burglarized recently. The thieves broke glass in broad daylight to gain entry into a guesthouse on the couple’s property. Despite triggering an alarm, the robbers managed to enter the guesthouse. Fortunately, they did not make it into the main house, and it is unclear if anything was stolen.
The burglary occurred while the actors were out of town, and they did not appear to be specifically targeted. Law enforcement sources indicated that this incident was part of a series of robberies in the area. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
It is uncertain which of Hanks and Wilson’s properties was targeted in the burglary. However, their main residence is a 14,000-square-foot mansion in Pacific Palisades, which they purchased for $26 million in 2010. The couple, who have been married since April 1988 and have two sons together, have become the latest in a string of celebrities whose LA-area homes have been broken into.
In a similar incident in April, Kyle Richards’ daughter had over $1 million worth of luxury items stolen from her Hollywood home, including precious family heirlooms. Other celebrities like Bhad Bhabie, Sarah Hyland, and Marlon Wayans have also fallen victim to burglaries at their residences.
