Tom Fletcher's sister Carrie confirms she is engaged after five months of dating

Tom Fletcher’s sister Carrie has shared the happy news she is engaged after five months of dating her new beau.

The West End star, 30, revealed fellow actor and director Joel Montague, 37, popped the question recently with an emerald ring.

While the couple planned to keep the news under wraps a bit longer, they decided to go public after their announcement was leaked to the press.

Carrie, who is the younger sister of McFly frontman Tom, took to Instagram to confirm it was indeed true.

Posting a photo with Joel as she flashed her engagement ring at the camera, she wrote: “I’ve landed a new role! One I’ll be playing for the rest of my life... Mrs Montague.”

Her 594,000 followers and famous pals were quick to congratulate the bride and groom to be.

Strictly dancer Amy Dowden wrote: “Yayyyyy the biggest congratulations. So happy for you! Do you need a wedding dance.”

Great British Bake Off star Laura Adlington said: “Ahhhh had a feeling this was coming! HUGE congratulations to you both. Lots and lots of love.”

A close pal commented: “I remember you texting after your first date and instructing me to buy a hat. Shall expedite the order! So happy for you, all the love.”

“This is amazing!!! I knew it was going to happen I just didn’t know when! So happy to see you so happy and so sure of yourself1 Congratulations!,” another pal chimed in.

Big brother Tom re-shared the engagement photo to his Instagram stories as the family enjoyed a group holiday to Walt Disney World.

His wife Giovanna – who he shares children Buzz, eight, Buddy, six, and four-year-old Max with – also reposted the pic adding the comment: “SO HAPPY FOR THESE GOOD HUMANS!”

Carrie’s husband to be Joel revealed that although they only recently started dating, they have actually known each other for years.

In a sweet post on Instagram back in July, he wrote: “You might have been through many relationships in your time and never think you will ever find the one.

“Although we’ve known each other for 8 years. We went on our first date a few months ago and it never ended.”
