Tom Felton asked Harry Potter actor for stage advice as he joins cast of new play

It has been announced that Tom Felton, Draco Malfoy in the famed Harry Potter franchise, has joined the cast of 2:22 A Ghost Story, which will open at the Criterion Theatre in May.

This award-winning thriller written by Danny Robins and directed by Matthew Dunster will open on May 7.

Britain's most loved evil wizard, Tom Felton, will star alongside Mandip Gill, Beatriz Romilly, and Sam Swainsbury.

Tom spoke on BBC's The One Show about his imminent debut on the stage, and revealed he sought advice from Harry Potter duo Matthew Lewis and Daniel Radcliffe when it came to the play.

He said: "I was very excited to tell Daniel, he's done a lot of theatre and musicals and so I was keen to get a bit of an insight.

"Him and Matthew Lewis, who I saw the other day, he was equally keen to advise me to embrace the madness and don't panic and just enjoy the time actually being up there.

"It's a very different thing than we've done before. I don't want to speak too soon but I'm really excited to get started."

2:22 A Ghost Story is the winner of three WhatsOnStage Awards, including Best New Play, Best Performer in a Female Identifying Role in a Play, and Best Supporting Performer in a Male Identifying Role in a Play.

It has also been nominated for three Olivier Awards, including Best Actress, Best New Play, and Best Sound Design. The trailer featuring the original cast looks like it will take the audience on an adrenaline-filled adventure.

Tom will play Sam, the husband of Jenny (Mandip Gill), who believes their new home is haunted.

Sam doesn’t believe in ghosts, but it seems like everyone could be in for a surprise when opinions clash, and a frightening feeling like something eery is drawing closer remains.
