Tom Brady 's first-born Jack, 15, is more likely to pursue a career in basketball rather than follow in the footsteps of his dad, who carved out a legendary career in the NFL, according to his mum, Bridget Moynahan.
Brady's NFL quarterback legacy, which has seen him be regarded as the greatest of all time, would heap a lot of expectation on Jack's shoulders should he decide to play football.
But his Blue Bloods actress mum Bridget, 52, says there will be no pressure on Jack to decide on what he wants to do with his life, and revealed that the teenager is more of a basketball player, which could see the Brady name spread into the NBA. "I really think that he's kind of like that normal kid who doesn't really know what he wants to do yet and I think that's okay," Brady's ex of three years told Live.
"I certainly don't want to put any pressure on him to do what I do or what his father does."
Bridget added on whether Jack is a keen football player: "No, he's more of a basketball player. He loves basketball. Yeah, basketball and lacrosse."
Jack's sporting preference comes as no surprise, with Brady saying that he and his mother will support their son in whatever he decides to do, and insists he's a "very good student". Brady told PEOPLE : "Yeah, he played this last year and I don't even know if he's going to play next year. And to be honest, whatever he chooses, I'll be very happy.
"But he loves lacrosse... basketball's probably his favourite sport, but he's a very good student. Again, I think wherever he ends up finding the path, I think for me and his mom just to support that is the best thing possible."
Jack was born in 2007, shortly after Brady and Bridget split in 2006. Brady started dating Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen around the time of Jack's birth and the married couple went on to have two more children, Benjamin, 13, and Vivian, 10.
Brady and Gisele's relationship came to an end toward the end of 2022, publicly announcing their divorce and spelling the end to 13 years of marriage, in October. The split was amicable and they share custody of Benjamin and Vivian.
The ex-NFL quarterback is already enjoying spending more time with his three children following his second retirement from professional football earlier this year. Brady has continuously shut down rumours of a return to the NFL, reaffirming his commitment to his family and projects outside of a playing career, including a ten-year analyst role with Fox Sports and a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders.
