Tom Brady is widely acknowledged as the greatest quarterback in football history, but one of his sons apparently isn’t looking to follow in his footsteps. Perhaps surprisingly, Benjamin Brady isn’t interesting in playing quarterback.
During the latest episode of the Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray podcast, Brady said that 13-year-old Benjamin is starting to play football. But instead of calling signals, he wants to emulate one of his dad’s famous teammates.
“My son is gonna play football this year, Benny, so I’ve been throwing the ball to him in the backyard, and he wants to be a tight end like Gronk, and he’s gonna be a little beast,” Brady said. “He told me this year, ‘Dad I’m playing football.’ I was like, ‘What do you wanna play?’ And he’s like, ‘tight end; I wanna be like Gronk.’”
The seven-time Super Bowl champion won four of his rings alongside Rob Gronkowski, one of the best tight ends who ever lived, and naturally texted his former teammate the news.
Although Benjamin is a long way from playing on television, seeing him hauling in touchdown catches would certainly be a sight to behold.
