Tom Brady and his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen have a stacked summer of plans ahead of them with their two children Benjamin, 13, and Vivian, 10, as they gear up to spend their first summer separated.
NFL legend Brady, 45, and Brazilian model Gisele, 42, announced their divorce late last year, bringing an end to 13 years of marriage. An agreement was also reached on shared custody of their two children, with Brady keen to spend more time with Benjamin and Vivian after retiring for the second time earlier this year.
Despite walking away from the NFL, Brady has constantly been linked with a second un-retirement this offseason, and with the quarterback set to become a minority stake owner in the Las Vegas Raiders, as well as a Fox Sports NFL analyst, rumours intensified.
Brady has, however, recently come out again and declared that he will stay retired due to the number of commitments that he has, including to his three children. "I am certain I am not playing again," he told Sports Illustrated. "I have tried to make that clear and I hate to profess that because I have already told people that lots of times."
And now speaking to People, Brady has revealed his co-parenting summer plans with his ex-wife Gisele. Brady will take Benjamin and Vivian to Disneyland, as well as Europe, while also heading to Brazil for a few weeks to spend time with their mum.
"I've got my little calendar right here," he said on Thursday. "We're going to Disneyland tomorrow to celebrate because it's the last day of school. Then they're going with their mom for a couple of weeks to Brazil." Brady added: "They got lots of good plans. These kids have a really good summer lined up."
The seven-time Super Bowl champion says his kids are embracing being outdoors despite typically being attached to friends and their devices. "It's interesting because there's so much attached to their friends with their devices and so forth," Brady said. "But I think it's always a balance between letting them do those things and staying connected with people from Boston and from Tampa and from Costa Rica and from Brazil."
Brady's move from New England, where he spent 20 years of his career, and most of Benjamin, Vivian, and oldest son John "Jack" Edward Thomas' lives, to Florida where he played for two seasons and won six seventh Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has made life outdoors more enjoyable with a wealth of sea and beaches on their doorstep.
"It's very different than being in the northeast for all those years where we just didn't have a lot of those types of activities," Brady said. "So I think now that there's more of those things, I definitely find it enjoyable. I think they definitely enjoy their time out there for sure."
