Toddler is fighting for his life after plummeting from the window of an eighth floor flat in Surrey

A toddler is fighting for his life in hospital after a horror fall from a block of flats in Surrey.

Police found the boy, aged 2, suffering serious injuries after plummeting from an eighth-storey tower window at 3.50pm on Tuesday in Sunbury.

Paramedics performed first aid on the youngster before he was airlifted to hospital.

His condition was described as critical but stable by Surrey Police.

A spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a child who had fallen from the window of a block of flats on Spelthorne Grove in Sunbury at around 3.50pm yesterday afternoon (14 March).

“Officers attended along with colleagues from the South East Coast Ambulance service and a two-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

“The police cordon at the scene has now been removed and the investigation to establish circumstances is ongoing.”
