Toddler airlifted in serious condition after near drowning at Pine Lodge

A toddler is in a serious condition after being rescued from an irrigation channel and resuscitated in northern Victoria this morning.

Ambulance Victoria was called to a property at Pine Lodge, near Shepparton, about 9:30am.

Paramedics treated the toddler at the scene before the child was airlifted to the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne in a serious condition.

This afternoon, the hospital said the toddler's condition had stabilised.

Shepparton Search and Rescue received notification of an incident involving a child in an irrigation channel but were not required to provide assistance.
