Todd Boehly has been urged to sign the club's very own Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane if the next Chelsea boss looks to build his project around Kai Havertz. The 23-year-old has been entrusted with leading the line lately despite the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the summer and David Datro Fofana in January.
Unlike Havertz, who usually prefers to drop deep and receive the ball to feet, Aubameyang and Fofana are orthodox strikers, yet the former is still preferred. The German has shown great promise when spearheading the Blues' frontline, but he's struggled to showcase his ability on a consistent basis.
However, Daniel Sturridge believes that all Chelsea need to do to see Havertz fulfil his potential is sign a pair of wingers who can attack space behind the opposition defence – a similar dynamic which Jurgen Klopp constructed with Roberto Firmino, Salah and Mane.

Speaking on Sky Sports, the former Liverpool striker acknowledged Mykhailo Mudryk as somebody who has shown the potential to be successful alongside Havertz in a front-three. Sturridge said: "As a centre forward I would say I don’t think he’s an out-and-out striker. Is he a false nine? Yes, but when you play with a player like Havertz you need goals from the wing.
"I would use the example of Firmino, he’s a similar style of player to Firmino so you need a Salah or a Mane to be running in behind and at the moment, of course we saw at the weekend Mudryk missed a chance but he’s putting himself into those positions so if they have players that are making dynamic runs in behind.
"Yes, he can play false nine because the weight is off of him scoring the goals. If he’s expected to carry the team with goals on his back I don’t believe he’s the guy."
Gabby Agbonlahor has previously slammed Havertz for being 'lightweight' amid concerns that the German isn't the right man for the job. Speaking on talkSPORT, the former Aston Villa striker said: "[Chelsea are] missing a ruthless striker. Put Harry Kane in that team, put [Erling] Haaland in that team, imagine the chances they’d score.
"Havertz, for me, is lightweight. He’s a big lad, but gets bullied on the ball. He’s not an out-and-out number nine and is more a number 10. But] they’ve got [Cristopher] Nkunku coming in the summer."
