Christopher Vivell is on the verge of becoming the new Technical Director at Chelsea, according to reports.
New owner Todd Boehly could be about to make one of his most important additions behind the scenes as the Blues hierarchy begins to take shape.
Should the move come off for the former RB Leipzig chief, it would be the first sporting director at Stamford Bridge since the departure of Michael Emenalo in 2017. Legendary shot-stopper Petr Cech was previously the technical and performance advisor but left in the aftermath of the takeover which saw Marina Granovskaia also depart.

According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, the 35-year-old is close to becoming the new technical director as the Blues owner appeals to have snatched the man he had pushed for.
Vivell will assume the same role which he had with Die Roten Bullen in the Bundesliga as he will head the squad planning and handling of transfers among others, as per the Sky Sports reporter.
In early October, the German was dismissed from his role as technical director at the Red Bull Arena. Now, the move could aid the Blues in their attempts to bolster the squad.
With Chelsea targeting two Leipzig players in Christopher Nkunku and Josko Gvardiol, Vivell appears to be the man to be spearheading the negotiations as Graham Potter's tenure kicks into gear.
