Chelsea have the opportunity to secure a £20million transfer bargain by reigniting their interest in Anthony Gordon this month. The Everton star looks set to leave his boyhood club after failing to report for training in the last three days.
Gordon proved to be a crucial figure for the Toffees last term as he helped them avoid relegation, but has not featured in the Premier League since the World Cup finished. His form towards the end of last season saw Chelsea pursue a deal for him the following summer, but Everton rebuffed any approaches for their young talent.
The Merseyside outfit are currently 19th in the Premier League and have recently sacked Chelsea legend Frank Lampard. Gordon is now pushing to leave the club with Newcastle leading the race to sign the winger, but the Toffees' latest decision could see Todd Boehly reignite the club's interest in the 21-year-old.
