Chelsea's midfield is one area that looks set to be overhauled in the coming transfer windows. N'Golo Kante and Jorginho are both entering the final six months of their current deals at Stamford Bridge and the Blues must find capable replacements should neither sign a new contract.
Graham Potter is yet to have the chance to reinforce his squad after replacing Thomas Tuchel as manager in September. Boehly has added Christopher Vivell to his recruitment team that has already seen the arrivals of Joe Shields, Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart ahead of the January transfer window.
David Datro Fofana is on the verge of completing a £10.5million move to Stamford Bridge from Molde as Boehly continues to sign talented youngsters. Brazilian talent Andrey Santos is also expected to complete a move to Chelsea in the coming days after the Blues agreed a £17.5million deal with Vasco da Gama.

Chelsea spent close to £300million in the summer transfer window but are expected to dip back into the transfer market in January to strengthen Potter's squad as they look to salvage a top four spot come the end of the season. Midfield is a concern heading into 2023 with some key players seemingly set to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season, whilst there remains a lack of quality in depth.
Liverpool are threatening to beat the Blues to key transfer targets in Declan Rice and Enzo Fernandez, with both players impressing at the World Cup in Qatar. Rice is expected to leave West Ham next summer with just 18 months left on his current deal, and the England international could fetch a fee in the region of £100million.
Fernandez helped Argentina win the World Cup and according to Record, Chelsea and Liverpool are among the clubs interested in snapping him up in 2023. Reports suggest the Portuguese giants are unwilling to part ways with the Argentine wonderkid for less than his release clause, which is said to be worth £105million.
Jurgen Klopp is thought to be prioritising a move for Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham as Liverpool prepare to face competition from Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid. Should they miss out on the 19-year-old, they are said to be keen on signing Rice and Fernandez to revamp their midfield options.
The Blues could steal the march on their rivals by hijacking a move for Rice, who is thought to be keen on linking up with Mason Mount at Stamford Bridge, and Fernandez who won the best young player of the tournament award at the World Cup. Boehly has shown he is willing to invest heavily when needed and he may need to break the bank to significantly improve Potter's midfield options.
