RTE star Daithí O Se has said fans inundate him with packets of chocolate on the Today Show.
The host said that while he never received any weird stuff from fans of him and the show, he does get a lot of sweet treats.
But the Kerry man said he is grateful he doesn’t have any admirers following him around the place.

The father-of-one told us: “I don’t think there’s any weird stuff. People send me lots of chocolate alright. Like if I mention it. For example, on Monday, I mentioned I like Toffy Pop biscuits and all of a sudden about 20 packets landed to me, so people are very kind and nice to me. I don’t have any crazy’s following me around thankfully.”
Daithi is father to Mícheál Óg, who he said is showing to be a keen sportsman.
“He’s at a great age, he’ll be nine now on St Patrick’s Day.
“He plays hurling, football and soccer.
“The thing about it is with the sports it’s great because he’s an only child so all of a sudden, he’s there with the gang again but do you know what? Whether it is a musical gang or a sports gang, once he’s in with the crowd and having the craic with the lads, that’s all I want really.
“He was always supporting Kerry football there for a while and then when they start going to school then....He’s in third class now. It’s all go now between hurling and football.
“Thanks be to God, he’s a happy go lucky fella and he bobs around the place. We were watching Dancing With The Stars and there he was dancing around the sitting room.”
Daithi added his only child status doesn’t appear to bother him either.
“It doesn’t seem to be affecting him at all for the moment now,” he said.
Daithí also spoke about another issue close to his heart as he teams up with Benecol in a bid to catch high cholesterol before it leads to coronary heart disease.
It’s an issue close to Daithí’s heart after he discovered last year he had high cholesterol after a routine visit to the doctor.
“It was definitely a flare in the sky where I thought, ok I need to do something about this. I thought everything would be fine.
“I didn’t feel weird or anything. I went in to get the bloods done as I always do and here we are but again, you can’t do anything about something unless you know it’s there.
“I always thought high cholesterol was for older people. But if you know there is an issue, you can do something about it.”
The Rose of Tralee host’s dad, Maidhc Dainín Ó Sé passed away suddenly of a heart attack in August of 2013 aged 71.
The 46-year-old said his eyes were opened by the sad passing and he prioritises his health.
Speaking at the campaign, the Kerry native said: “I lost my father who had heart issues and it has made me super proactive about caring for my own health.
"When I discovered I had high cholesterol I started using Benecol products to manage it, so I was delighted when the opportunity to work with them came about.
“Often we want to ignore things especially if we’re afraid - sometimes feelings about our health can stop us from taking the simple steps needed to do something positive.
"But with cholesterol, it's very much something that you can take into your own hands and do something about - so there’s no reason to be afraid and there’s no reason to feel shame or guilt if your cholesterol is high, it can happen to anyone.
“That’s what this campaign is all about. We’ve created a content series that sees me chat to others who like me discovered their cholesterol was high. It’s not something to forget about until old age - so if you don’t know your number - don’t let fear stop you from finding out.
"People can take just one step today to manage their heart health. Get checked, talk to a healthcare professional or make a change to your diet.”
