A further 8,725 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Scotland – with the nation's virus death toll increasing by 20.
Data published by the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland show there are 1,226 patients with Covid in Scottish hospitals, which is up 35 from yesterday.
There are currently 16 people being treated with the disease in ICUs across the nation.
The new fatalities within the last 24 hours mean the nation's death toll from the virus now stands at 10,788.
However, 13,316 deaths had been registered up to Sunday, February 20 where the disease was mentioned on the death certificate.
The headline number of Covid cases and deaths now includes cases based on an individual’s first positive test as well as possible reinfections, where an individual tests positive 90 days or more after their last positive test.
Meanwhile, there are 95 patients with Covid in Ayrshire hospitals – down three from yesterday – while fewer than five people are being treated with the illness in the region's intensive care units.
In terms of Public Health Scotland's rolling seven-day infection rate per 100,000 population, Orkney Islands has the highest rate in the country – at 1,834.8 as of Tuesday, March 1.
Shetland Islands has the second-highest infection rate at 1,661.6 while Na h-Eileanan Siar is third with 1,177.4
In terms of Ayrshire's three local authorities, East Ayrshire has the highest rate of 804.3; North Ayrshire's rate stands at 803.7 while South Ayrshire's is 746.4
Of the 615 new cases reported in Ayrshire, 255 were in East Ayrshire with 206 in North Ayrshire and 153 in South Ayrshire.

A total of 4,436,867 people have received one dose of a Covid vaccine; 4,158,818 are double jabbed and 3,437,398 people have received a third dose/booster.
