Toby Sibbick admitted he had a chilled out transfer deadline day after being delighted Hearts knocked back Blackpool.
The Jambos defender was a target for the Championship side but boss Robbie Neilson shot down any bids as he has big plans for the centre-half. Sibbick is on board and didn’t spend the last day of the window hanging by the phone. He said: “When Hearts put out that statement I was on Twitter scrolling through and I saw my name and thought ‘what?’. I thought something had happened without me knowing and I was wondering what was going on. I was at home chilling. I came in for training the next day, spoke to Joe and the manager and they said they wanted me to stay.
“I said: ‘Listen, I’m happy to stay and I enjoy being here.’ It would have been silly for me to leave, especially given where we are at this moment. They just put it to bed and I spoke to my agent and said I am in a happy place so no need to entertain any other offers. So deadline day was was a bit more relaxing. I have moved a few times in January to it was nice to be on a relaxing side of things, staying at home.”
Sibbick insisted there’s too much to play for at Tynecastle to think about leaving with the Jambos in the hunt for Europe and targeting silverware. He said: “It’s just background noise.
"I don’t really focus on the transfer stuff. I’m at a good club, fighting for European places and we’re still in the Scottish Cup. That’s something we want to win this season so it wasn’t really in my mind.”
Sibbick is determined to dust down after Wednesday’s 3-0 loss to Rangers when Dundee United come to town today.
He admitted: “It was a frustrating night, we didn’t play how we wanted to. It just didn’t click for us but this is another opportunity to get that out of our system and get three points.
“We want to get back to winning ways on Saturday and start another unbeaten run.”
