Toby Sibbick says Hearts want to finish third and will do everything to make it happen.
The Jambos head for Paisley this weekend to face St Mirren after defeat last week against Celtic handed Ange Postecoglou and his troops the Scottish Premiership title at Tynecastle. The capital club started strongly but lost Alex Cochrane in the first half to a red card following a VAR review meaning they had to play over 45 minutes with a ,man down.
They eventually went down to defeat but with Aberdeen losing at Rangers the gap in the race for the best of the rest spot remains at five points with four games to play. The need for points is high with every single result set to be vital in the run-in.

Sibbick told the Hearts website: “I felt up until their first goal we were still in the game. Obviously, it’s hard with ten men, but we felt confident and who knows what would’ve happened if we had kept 11 men on the pitch, so we can take confidence from that match into Saturday.”
He continued: “St Mirren have caused a lot of teams problems this season. They have a structure, and it works well for them. They haven’t lost many games at home this season, so we know it’s going to be a difficult place to go and get a result. We need to be ready to nullify their strengths, but also be positive on our side.
“When you play at a club like this, you play to win every game. Football doesn’t always work like that, but on Saturday we have another opportunity to get three points. We want to be on the front foot, playing positive football, with a smile on our face, and keep winning games.
“With the season coming to an end, every point we can get could be vital and, in this league, there is no easy game. Every team asks different questions of you, but we want to finish third and we are going to do everything we can to finish there.”
