CHENNAI: Chepauk Super Gillies rode top contributions from opener N Jagadeesan (75, 6x4, 3x6) and R Sai Kishore (2-25 with the ball followed by an innings of 48) to register a five-wicket win over Kovai Kings in their TNPL-6 encounter in Coimbatore on Tuesday. M Shahrukh Khan's breezy 51 helped Kovai post 170-7 which was chased down by the defending champions with 7 balls to spare.
A target of 171 proved to be tricky for Chepauk as they slipped to 48 for 3 in the 7th over. Sai Kishore and Jagadeesan then added 92 in 60 balls for the fourth wicket stand to change the complexion of the clash. Their partnership concluded when Sai Kishore was caught by substitute fielder Yudheeshwaran off Abhishek Tanwar's bowling. Once Sai Kishore and Jagadeesan departed, R Sathish (11 n.o.) and Harish Kumar (6 n.o.) ensured Chepauk crossed the finish line in 18.5 overs.
