New Delhi: Trinamool Congress leader Saket Gokhale on Thursday questioned the credentials of the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI), a registered unrecognised political party, and asked why the Election Commission has not responded for 84 days to his RTI seeking details about the party.
At a press conference held here, Gokhale said the NCPI was registered with the Election Commission (EC) in West Bengal in 2023 and had contested elections only once, in Tripura, but 20 TMC MPs have claimed to have joined it.
