TK Maxx is selling diamond engagement rings worth £4,000 for a quarter of the price

With everything that has been happening recently, lots of people are looking for ways to save money.

This truth may ring especially true for those hoping to get engaged.

While last year saw the return of Poundland's engagement rings, they are not the only high street store selling discount rings.

Budget store TK Maxx is also in the wedding business it seems - with a luxury range that will set you back more than Poundland' s range, but hopefully not break the bank.

And if you are looking to splash out, there are discounts as high as 75 per cent and diamond options up for grabs.

Offers include a 14-carat white gold ring with diamonds across the band, on sale for £999.99 - a mammoth cut down from its original price of £3999.99.

A blue tanzanite stone ring made with 14-carat gold worth £3,599.99 is also down to just short of £1,000.

The budget store has several other rings on offer, with some selling for as little as £200.

It comes as Diamantaires are selling their unsold stock to TK Maxx, and lovebirds and spending less and less on engagement rings, according to research.

Insurance provider Urban Jungle found the average cost of a ring in 2022 is £4,430 - down £464 from £4,894 in 2019.

Insurance Director Stephen Cowap said: “We all know that weddings can be expensive.

“As costs continue to rise in all areas, combined with the pressures of the ongoing cost of living crisis, we’re not surprised.

“People are choosing less expensive engagement and wedding rings in favour of saving a bit of cash for the big day.”
