The Tennessee Titans’ win over the Miami Dolphins on “Monday Night Football” wasn’t just impressive, it was also historic.
According to Quirky Research, the Titans are the first team in NFL history to overcome a 14-point deficit with under 2:55 remaining en route to winning without the need for overtime.
Depending on which sportsbook you looked at, the Titans were either 13.5- or 14-point underdogs going into this game.
Even if we the take the smaller spread, the Titans’ win marks the biggest upset of the entire 2023 season, and it’s also tied for the third-biggest in “Monday Night Football” history, per the Sun Sentinel’s David Furones.
This isn’t one of those instances where everyone overlooked the Titans, because there was ample reason to believe that Tennessee would not only lose, but get blown out, also.
The fact that this team keeps fighting is a testament to the kind of coach Mike Vrabel is. He isn’t perfect by any means, but this win was a reminder that the Titans have the right guy to lead them into the future.
