Titans’ updated list of 2023 dead-cap hits after recent cuts

The Tennessee Titans decided to part ways with four players on Wednesday, releasing left tackle Taylor Lewan, wide receiver Robert Woods, linebacker Zach Cunningham and kicker Randy Bullock.

The Titans entered the day nearly $23 million over the cap, but after making the aforementioned cuts and clearing $37.8 million in cap space, Tennessee now sits with $12.4 million to work with, per Over the Cap.

Of course, that isn’t a ton to work with, but the Titans have more options to free up money at their disposal with the contracts of outside linebacker Bud Dupree, quarterback Ryan Tannehill and offensive lineman Jamarco Jones.

Jones will likely be cut, but Tannehill and Dupree could get cut or traded if the Titans decide not to hold on to either.

From there, Tennessee could opt to restructure or extend players in order to lower their cap hits, with Tannehill, running back Derrick Henry and safety Kevin Byard all being possibilities.

While Tennessee has shed four players from its roster, three of them will still be on the books for 2023 thanks to dead money. The only player released on Wednesday with no dead money is Lewan.

Here’s an updated list of all of the Titans’ dead-cap hits for this coming season, per Over the Cap.
