Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks has been one of the biggest standouts at training camp after two weeks, with the second-year wideout consistently making plays on the practice field.
But it isn’t just the plays he’s making that have led to him standing out. Burks has also looked much more confident and in better shape ahead of his second season.
When asked about having more confidence this year, Burks noted that one of the things that has helped him in his second offseason is the fact that he stayed around the facility more.
“The offseason, it’s good to go out and go take a vacation or whatever,” he said after practice last week. “But sometimes, being a first-year guy, that second year I felt like I needed to stay here and work on the things that I needed to work on.
“Get in shape, get closer with the quarterbacks, coaches, and it pays off when you do that and it shows out on the field.”

The addition of veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been big for Burks, as his presence takes pressure off the Arkansas product and gives him a great role model to follow and learn from.
Having Hopkins in the room has also given Burks even more motivation to work hard.
“Just as a man, I wouldn’t want nobody doing better than me,” Burks said, per Easton Freeze of Broadway Sports. “Him being the type of receiver that he is and just being behind him, just makes you want to work more. Being able to achieve the things he’s achieved, it just makes you go out and grind.”
Burks recently received praise from quarterback Ryan Tannehill for the growth he’s shown this offseason, and Hopkins has noticed as well.
“I can’t speak for [Treylon], but watching him out here, I can tell that he’s taken his game to another level,” Hopkins said during the first week of camp, per Mickey Ryan of 104.5 The Zone. “The way he practices, him moving the ball, him demanding certain reps and certain routes; I love that from a young guy. And I can tell that him and I are going to play off each other very well.”
