Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks has officially arrived after having the best game of his young career in the 27-17 win over the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night.
Burks tallied career-highs in receptions (seven) and receiving yards (111) in the breakout performance we’ve all been waiting for. The rookie showed it all, including his ability to make plays down the field.
“I just had to answer the call when my name was called, and make plays,” Burks said. “I’m glad I could be there for the team.”
Burks had a pair of 40-plus-yard catches in the game, including a 51-yard grab that came with just two minutes remaining to put the game on ice, a play-call that surprised everyone, even Burks himself.
“I’m not going to lie, a little bit,” Burks responded when asked if he was surprised by the call. “When he said it in the huddle, I was like ‘oh yeah, I have to get it.’ And just went out there and kept God first and it happened.”
“It just shows confidence,” the rookie added. “And coach Todd, Vrabes, and also Ryan just to believe in me to do that, and I took care of my business and made a play.”

“We were going to have to get a first down there in order run out the clock,” quarterback Ryan Tannehill said. “I had a one-on-one look out there with Treylon and was able to give him a chance, and Treylon made the play. So, I love to see it.”
We all love to see it, too.
Not only did Burks produce, he also showed a little swagger after beating Alexander for the big play by appearing to motion to him that the Packers cornerback was too small to stop him.

Hopefully the rookie’s career-best showing is a sign of things to come and this offense as a whole can start taking off for the stretch run of the season.
