Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks made his return to the field in Week 13 after missing three contests due to a concussion. The 2022 first-round pick played 10 snaps, with the team easing him back in.
Thankfully, Burks said he’s feeling better after the scary injury and thanked head coach Mike Vrabel and the rest of the staff for how they handled the situation.
“I would say I feel good,” Burks said, per Jim Wyatt. “Things happen, but keep going about the way that I am, and let God take care of the rest… I think (coach Vrabel) he handled it the best way for the team, and for my safety. All I can do is keep leaning on (coaches and trainers) and my teammates, and doing whatever is right for the team and myself.”
The Arkansas product admitted he doesn’t really remember anything from the Week 9 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He’s since watched the replay and chalks the concussion up to a “bad fall.”
“I ain’t going to lie to you – I don’t recall really much from Pittsburgh,” Burks said. “Other than I heard we didn’t win that game.”
“Really just a bad fall,” he added. “There was really nothing I could do to prevent it.”
That’s obviously very concerning for the wideout’s well-being, but Burks said he isn’t thinking about that right now and is just focused on going out and playing football.
“I don’t really think about it that much,” Burks said. “I just go out there and play the game, and whatever is in God’s (plan) it happens, and I know that He’ll take of (me) from here on out.
“I have been feeling better ever since, and I am just ready to get out and do what I do. It is hard (to miss), being a football player, when you love the game, missing games is not fun at all. So, it has been hard, but I am thankful that I am back in the position I am, to play.”
It has been a disappointing season for Burks, who hasn’t produced much when on the field. He’ll look to do his best to turn that around over the final five games.
