Titans’ snap counts and takeaways from Week 16

The Tennessee Titans’ injury woes continued in Week 16 against the Houston Texans, as not only were they missing several players going into the game, but they also lost a few more during it.

The most notable absences were those of quarterback Ryan Tannehill, right guard Nate Davis, center Ben Jones and cornerback Kristian Fulton.

During the game, outside linebacker Bud Dupree, right tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere and linebacker Zach Cunningham all exited early with their own injuries.

Let’s see how the Titans replaced all of those players, along with the rest of the biggest takeaways from the team’s Week 16 snap counts versus the Texans on Saturday.

Titans' snap counts and takeaways: Offense

Syndication: The Tennessean

-With Nate Davis and Ben Jones out, the Titans started Corey Levin at center and Jordan Roos at right guard, which is what we expected. Le’Raven Clark replaced Nicholas Petit-Frere when he exited due to injury.

-Treylon Burks out-snapped Nick Westbrook-Ikhine for the first time this season. Burks had previously matched snaps with NWI in Week 4. Robert Woods led the way among wide receivers, and Racey McMath didn’t see a snap on offense.

-Geoff Swaim (24) continues to serve as the No. 3 tight end, at least in terms of snaps. Both Chig Okonkwo (28) and Austin Hooper (30) played more, but not by much.

-Hassan Haskins was the only other running back to see snaps behind Derrick Henry. Julius Chestnut and Jonathan Ward, both of whom were active, did not play a single snap on offense.

-Zach Cunningham played 15 snaps before re-injuring his elbow and leaving. Jack Gibbens filled in alongside Monty Rice and had a fantastic game.

-Denico Autry logged 43 snaps in his first game back, so it was pretty much a normal workload for the veteran. Jeffery Simmons played a whopping 91 percent of snaps.

-After seeing significant playing time for most of the games he’s been with the Titans, Andrew Adams saw just 24 snaps on Saturday. He was out-snapped by Joshua Kalu, who saw 47.

-At cornerback, Tre Avery saw significant snaps with Kristian Fulton out. Meanwhile, Lonnie Johnson saw a season-high 53 as the third corner.

-Bud Dupree played 29 snaps before leaving with a chest injury. Tarell Basham’s 30 snaps were the most for him since joining Tennessee. He matched Rashad Weaver’s total, also.
