With punter Ryan Stonehouse out for the season, the Tennessee Titans are set to sign a new punter.
According to Aaron Wilson of Click2Houston.com, the Titans are signing punter Ty Zentner to the practice squad after bringing him in for a tryout along with six others on Tuesday.
An undrafted free-agent signing of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023 out of Kansas State, Zentner lost a training camp battle against Arryn Siposs, which led to his being waived and then signed by the Houston Texans.
Zentner appeared in four games for the Texans, attempting 14 punts in that span. He tallied a gross average yards per punt of 42.1 and a net average of 38.6.
The 25-year-old was then waived following the Week 4 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers after punter Cameron Johnston returned from injury.
The Titans do have one open spot on their active roster after the team waived linebacker Monty Rice on Tuesday, so it may not be long before Zentner gets promoted.
