While the Tennessee Titans remain in the bottom half of the NFL in terms of the value of the team, they did see the biggest increase in that area over the past year.
According to Mike Ozanian of Forbes, the Titans are worth a total of $4.4 billion, ranking 21st in the NFL. However, the team also saw a sizeable increase in value of 26 percent, tops in the league.
Buy Titans TicketsAs Ozanian writes, the reason behind the impressive increase has to do with the Titans’ new stadium, which is slated to open in 2027.
Beyond the Cowboys’ increase, there were four teams that rose at least 20% in value, each as a result of stadium economics. The Tennessee Titans, up 26%, to $4.4 billion, will receive $1.26 billion of public financing for a $2.1 billion stadium that is expected to open in 2027. The Titans will run the stadium, which, given Nashville’s vibrant economy, is expected to generate tens of millions of dollars in additional revenue for the team.
Along with the Titans, the Las Vegas Raiders (22 percent), Miami Dolphins (24 percent) and Cleveland Browns (20 percent) were the only other teams to see a 20 percent or more increase in value.
Per usual, the Dallas Cowboys topped the list as the most valuable team in the NFL, coming in at $9 billion, which was $2 billion more than the next closest team, the New England Patriots.
