The Tennessee Titans picked up safety Julius Wood off of waivers on August 28, 2024. He initially signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent, but was waived on August 27th as part of 53-man roster cuts. The Titans picked him up the next day, and he’s remained part of the active roster.
Today, though, all of that changes as Wood has been suspended by the NFL for six games without pay for violating the league’s policy on performance enhancing drugs.

This means Woods is done for the season, he will miss the final four games of 2024 and the first two games of 2025.
In nine games this season, Woods has just two tackles (one solo). That’s it, that’s his whole stat line. The loss of Woods doesn’t necessarily have a huge impact on the Titans’ defense, except that the secondary is already depleted. L’Jarius Sneed is out, Chidobe Awuzie is working his way back, and Quandre Diggs is out.
Losing Woods leaves the Titans with just three safeties, so there will be a lot of moving parts in the secondary while Dennard Wilson figures out how to move forward.
