Titans’ Ryan Tannehill, DeAndre Hopkins nearing milestones in 150th career game

Two of the Tennessee Titans’ most experienced players are set to hit individual milestones on Sunday afternoon when the team travels to Indianapolis to take on the Colts.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins will be playing in their 150th career game this weekend. It’s taken Hopkins 11 seasons to reach this mark while it took Tannehill a total of 12, largely because of his ACL injury that robbed him of an entire season in 2017.

The two of them also have statistical goals that are within reach.

With 19 more completions, Tannehill can become the seventh active NFL quarterback to reach 3,000 career completions. The other six are: Aaron Rodgers (5,001), Matthew Stafford (4,611), Russell Wilson (3,460), Andy Dalton (3,408), Kirk Cousins (3,357) and Derek Carr (3,281).

Tannehill’s 7.34 yards per attempt rank fourth among the seven players listed above, only trailing Rodgers (7.71), Wilson (7.78) and Cousins (7.64).

As for Hopkins, he is one catch away from being the fourth player in NFL history to produce at least one catch in 150 straight games to begin a career, joining the likes of Marvin Harrison (190), Keyshawn Johnson (167) and Marshall Faulk (158).

By just suiting up, Hopkins will finish this Sunday’s game with the fifth-most amount of catches over a wide receiver’s first 150 games. Over the span of his first 149, DHop has totaled 71 receptions, 11,514 yards and 71 touchdowns.

The Clemson product is still seeking his first receiving touchdown as a Titan, so it would be fitting if Tannehill and Hopkins finally connect on a scoring play on a day in which they’re both playing in their 150th career game.
